Hey there fellow Woppians! Welcome to my first blog! I'm Brennan and in my next few blogs I'm going to be speaking about the filming locations within the Harry Potter movies!
Today, we're going to start off with the places in London where scenes have been filmed.
The Australia House, which is also known as Gringotts Bank. Its included within the interior shots of Gringotts and used in The Phillosophers Stone. You can actually go and visit this building in London for Free. It was originally opened by King George V in 1918 so it's a pretty old building.
Ah yes, the very familiar station that is also mentioned in both in the book and the movies. It's also a station which is very often used in London and one of the main ones alongside London Paddington! There is a shop inside where they sell a lot of Harry Poterr merchendise! For filming, platform 4 and 5 were changed to 9 and 10. When you visit the station now you'll be able to see half a luggage cart disappearing into the wall!
This was used within Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. At the beginning of this scene you can see the Millennium Footbridge collapsing dramatically It's a great effect and a hooking opening!
This was used in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at one of the very beginning scenes It's also the Headquaters of the Greater London Authority which was only built in 2002.
Anywaay! That's all for this week! If you have any good jokes that you feel would be worth mentioning in this article! Send me an owl and you may be featured next time!
