Hi, welcome back to the maps blog! For anyone who is new to the blog, I look at the locations around the amazing site and show you more about what I imagine them to be like.Today, I’ve taken a trip to the Hogwarts greenhouses.

It was a nice day, the sun was out and the air was cold. I walked across the grounds, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do that day. There were no classes that I had to attend, so it was the perfect day for a leisurely stroll across the grounds -- so that’s exactly what I did.

As my feet bounced against the ground, I neared the greenhouse and decided to inspect it. It was a rectangular, glass paneled building with gold rode separating the panels. The door itself was rimmed with the same type of gold, and I could see the rows of plants even from the outside.

I opened the golden door and stepped inside the greenhouse. Immediately, I felt the heat blow onto me. The workers had to keep it like that, since some plants would wither upon extreme cold. I keep thinking how remarkable it is when the snow falls on the roof of the greenhouse and the plants stay all snug inside.

I looked up at the glass ceiling. The sunlight was bouncing off of the roof and reflecting off on other parts of the glass. It spread images of rainbows where some plants were being watered with automatic magical watering systems. I happily walked over to one of them, putting my hand out under it. A drop fell, and when it hit, it rolled off my hand and onto the plant it was designated to be watering. A smile crept onto my face as I ran over to the other plants.

There were tons, lined up in a row. Plants with leaves, thorns, fruit, flowers and plants in every color imaginable. Red, green, pink, purple, magenta even! I walked over to one that is my personal favorite, a tall, leafy plant that had a green stem and three giant purple leaves that protruded from the sides. This plant had three sprinklers, one that hit each leaf. I could see the water seeping in through the leaf, through the stem, and down to the soil it was standing in.

My other favorite plant was a small, orange cactus. The thorns were a normal white, and a yellow flower sat resting on the top. It showed that good, pretty and dangerous things could all come packed inside of one, small package.

As I was about to leave, I saw a door that extended from the side of the room. This door led to the professor’s office. I knew that it had one giant table with a comfy chair that you could sit in. There were plants scattered around, and a skylight at the top. It had an old, dusty, and natural aesthetic if you had to choose one.

The door’s brass handle began to turn… which is when I realized I probably wasn’t supposed to be here. I quickly ran out of the greenhouse before I could get caught.

Thank you guys for reading! Like always, make sure to comment down below what place you’d like to see next time!!

Have a great day,
Io
