Traveling Tuesday

In the Rolling Hills of Wyoming State-Info-Wyoming.jpg
Wyoming, USA

Hey guys, my name is Brittany Black, and today I’m going to tell you about a trip I took last summer to America. I received an owl the other day from a distant family member named Alesandria who attends Ilvermorny. In the owl was a postcard from a place she had visited, but receiving that owl reminded me of my trip from last summer.

I had visited her last summer and immediately fell in love with the area in which she lives while not at Ilvermorny. They had invited me to visit so that they could introduce me to my newest cousin, baby Brayson. Now, I love babies as much as the next person, but holy cow when I stepped outside after first getting there, I fell in love with the area around me.

Today, I’m going to tell you all about the area and why you should go there for your next family getaway. Or maybe go there by yourself when the family makes you mad enough. Either way, I won’t judge you for it in the slightest!

So, my cousin lives in a remote area of America, called Wyoming. It’s a pretty big state, but very few people live there. Believe it or not, but Wyoming is the least populated place in America! Which, surprise surprise, means the wizarding population there is quite small. Alesandria told me there are only about 125 wizards total in the entire state, which means they have to hide their powers QUITE well so the Muggles, or No-Maj’s as they call them, don’t see them. Mostly, the area is just mountains and rolling hills with animals in between.

Boars, Bald Eagles, Black Bears, Bobcats and more surround the area, making it an animal lovers dream location! I even had a Red Fox come up to me and lay at my feet as I sat by the river reading a book! Whoops, I think my animal loving side is showing. Maybe I’ll come back and talk about the wildlife a little later.

Wyoming is big on farming, meaning they grow food to sell to stores so they can survive. Alesandria’s family is no different, seeing they lived on a huge farm. The only difference is that they do it to blend in and not so they can survive. Her father told me that is funny to see how their neighbors react when they look at how many crops they harvest, which is just over double what the neighbors harvest. “In fact, it’s almost like magic that it’s like that!” He told me with a mischievous wink.

“Why should we visit here?” You might be asking yourself.

Well, if you’re like me and love peace, and quiet, then Wyoming is a place for you. With how few people there actually are, you are at more peace than you are, say, in the Hogwarts Library. I found a little river and went there every day to relax and be one with nature, and it was an easy thing to do, let me tell you. Being surrounded by the animals and having nobody else around was such a great thing and I loved every minute of it. When my time came to leave, I shed a few tears because I knew my time of relaxation was now over.

Luckily for me, Alesandria said I could come back whenever I wanted to. Hmm, I think I might have some plans for our next break!

That’s all for today loves. Hope I see you again!
