Creatures of Magic #1

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Iolani Mahiai, and I am here to introduce you to the wonderful world of magical creatures that we can find around the wizarding world. For today, we will be talking about Occamies.

The Occamy

~Appearance~

An occamy is a turquoise, winged snake-like creature. It has an orange beak like a bird and headfeathers of a turquoise like the body. The end of its tail has a few spikes on it. One of the occamy’s main features is a pair of wings that rest on it’s back. These wings are purple and extend from the serpentine’s back.

The occamy can grow up to fifteen feet long! That’s about three average height first to third years stacked on top of each other. It can also shrink to fit into a space it wants to hide or nest in.

The X rating given to them is XXXX. The ministry of magic classifies this as the ‘beast’ category.

~History of the Occamy~

There isn’t much history on this amazing creature, but we know that famous Magizooligist Newt Scamander owned one inside of his case. It escaped in 1926, but was relocated in a department store. Another case of famous wizards having an occamy was Gilderoy Lockhart. He created a hair care product with a “secret” ingredient- occamy egg. (Which I, personally, think is wrong on many levels.) However, they were deemed “too territorial and too expensive.”
