I Can See Color: Backstory
Hello! Welcome to this week's I Can See Color! In this blog, I interview members with IG jobs so that you can get to know what it's like. I've already interviewed a flek, grep, a boysen, and a pumpkin. Thanks to everyone who commented on my last blog you should do it to. It means a lot to know people are enjoying reading something I've written. Also, you might've noticed that I also posted I Can See Color last week. That's because it's now a weekly blog! I get to annoy write for you even more!
This week, I interviewed a member of the amazing backstory team, Daisy Elieawyn!. You've probably seen her around the site being awesome and checking backstories. Plus, she's one of Hufflepuffs top house point scorers with 766 point yes, I did some stalking Now, you probably want me to get to the interview, so here it is.
Me: Hi Daisy! I'm so glad to have you here on our 5th issue of I Can See Color! I can't wait to find out more about the backstory team and what it's like to be on it. So, let's get started. What’s your favorite part of being a smurf?
Daisy: My favorite part is definitely getting to lurk and read people's backstories. The users on here write so well and always come up with the most unique backstories!
Me: I've definately seen some amazing and creative backstories while stalking looking at user's profiles. And, this is a reminder to write your backstories and profile texts so that I can read them. The backstory team must check a lot of them. And that's just one of the things that they do! What makes being a smurf different from other jobs?
Daisy: We get a chance to not only read informative profiles and interesting backstories, but also help users on their goals and visions for their character. The backstory is such an integral part of a character, and it allows other users to understand them better, and making it easier to come up with ideas for relations and topics. So, we get to really help people with who they want their character to be, which is a lot of fun and super rewarding.
Me: I better ask the backstory team for some help with mine. Though I am pretty awesome the way I am. Anyway, enough about me. The point is that the backstory teams helps so many people develope their characters and become part of the site. When’s a time you felt really good about being a smurf?
Daisy: I was looking through backstories and encountered this new user who had a great profile, but had yet to write a backstory. Then I checked back on them a week later, and not only had they written an amazing backstory, they had also been super active and racked up a lot of points. It made me feel really good to sort of watch their progress from afar.
Me: They might not've ever written their backstory without you. It must be nice to know that you played a role in helping them become part of the site. And speaking of points, everyone should go earn some more. Now, back to the backstory team. Why did you apply to be a smurf?
Daisy: I applied because I wanted to help the site out in a fun and unique way. And I already lurked and stalked backstories before becoming a smurf, so it fit perfectly!
Me: The smurfs are so unqiue. And I know there are plenty of backstory stalkers who should apply for the amazing team. Now, I only have one more question before the end of this interview. What’s a piece of advice you’d give to anyone applying to be a smurf?
Daisy: Be honest about your strengths and weaknesses so Carina knows how to ensure you have the best experience if you get hired. And never ever be afraid to get creative!
Me: Yes! Being honest on your applications doesn't make you seem like a worse canadit for the job. Being perfect does! And always be creative! Thank you so much for being here today Daisy. I, personaly, reallu enjoyed it.
Wow! The backstory team does so much for the site. Even more than I though and I think a lot. The smurfs deserve so much love and appreciation for everything they do. And, to make their job a little easier, go write your backstories. Next time you see a smurf in the chat, thank them for everything they do. Or, leave a comment about how awesome they are bellow.
