I Can See Color: AT

Hello! Welcome to this week's I Can See Color! In this blog, I interview members with IG jobs so that you can get to know what it's like. My last blog went so well. Thank you to everyone who left comments of support and volunteered to be interviewed. I'm really happy that you guys liked it because if you didn't...Anyway, all the support made me feel great and so here I am with the 2nd issue. Now, I'm going to stop talking about how awesome my blog is and get on with the interview.

This week, I interviewed Our awesome HoM At, Isabelle Nightshade. Isabelle is currently the only HoM AT. Before we start the interview, I just want to thank our AT's for everything they do on the site and all the homework they grade. I'd never be able to do that much Our ATs are so amazing and hardworking and I can guarantee the site wouldn't be the same without them. Now, on to the interview!

Me: Hi Izzy! It’s so great to have you this week for another I Can See Color interview. I’m going to be asking you about your job as a HoM AT. The first question I have is: How long have you been an AT?

Isabelle: On this site, I have been an Assistant Teacher for over a year on two different accounts.

Me: Wow! That’s a long time. You must be really committed and dedicated to the site. You do so much for us and we’re so glad. Since we’re on the topic of doing things, what are some things that AT’s do?

Isabelle: Well as an AT we grade and handle disputes over homework assignments. Also, if anyone has questions or needs help with their homework we help them!

Me: You certainly do a lot. I’ve had so many homework assignments graded by AT’s and they’re all so well-written and thorough. This hard work can be fun. What’s your favorite part of being and AT?

Isabelle: There are so many things I love about this job! Although if I had to choose, I'd say just the environment and the people I work with! I absolutely love the WoP staff. Everyone is super kind, supportive, and a blast to talk to! Through this job I have met so many wonderful people.

Me: That might be my favorite part of WoP in general. All the people on this site are so amazing and kind. Since you’ve been an AT for so long, you must’ve some memories. What was one time you felt good about being an AT?

Isabelle: Well once a bunch of fleks got together and decided to start this thing called the flek choir. We got together and did a topic singing a bunch of Disney songs! It was a super fun experience and I got to bond with friends!

Me: That sounds so fun! I wish I could join, though a boysenberry surrounded by fleks would stick out like a sore thumb. Now, it’s time for our last question: What is one thing you’ve learned from being an AT.

Isabelle: I've learned a lot of things! One thing that has helped me IRL is the importance of paraphrasing and avoiding plagiarism. Plagiarising can result in serious consequences including ruined academic and professional reputation. Getting the experience of paraphrasing and avoiding plagiarism on this site has helped prepare me.

Me: Plagiarising is a giant problem. Please either do your own work or don’t do it at all. I’ve always appreciated ATs, but after this interview,I’m truly blown away by how much they do to make the site better. Give it up for Isabelle and the ATs.

That’s all you need to know about being an AT. They do so much for the site and we should all appreciate and recognize them. Next time you get AT-graded homework back, take a second to think about all the hard work they put into it and maybe read it a little more thoroughly. Maybe grade a little homework so that they don’t have to. When you see an AT in the chat, thank them for all the hard work they do. The next few weeks, be extra appreciative of the AT’s.

Now that I have your attention, I’d like to say that if you want an AT job, go to the homepage and see which ones are open. IIf you see that there’s a spot open for a subject you’d like to be an AT in, go to the clubs page and click on the AT team club to find out how to apply.

Here are all the jobs that we have on WoP (keep in mind that not all of them are open for applications right now):

Since this is a bi-weekly blog, it happens every two weeks. I’ll do a different job each week. If you’re interested in an interview or reading about a specific job, please owl me (Skyler Midleus) or write your suggestion in the comments below. If I reach out to you for an interview, you have 3 days to respond or I’ll automatically think you’re not interested and have to choose someone else. Thank you for reading and make sure to tune into our next issue.
