The first person I spoke to was the wonderful young grep who I’m sure you’ve all seen around, Ethan Bennet!
Ethan: I love that WoP is like a community, you meet friends and you can also be supported by others, but it is also a place to be creative and let your wild side out (although not too much ;) being a prefect and all :P )
Next I moved onto my wonderful snowy friend the wonderful Laura Lovecharm to chat to her about WoP.
Me: So Laura, what do YOU like about WoP?
Laura: I really love how WoP US has helped with my writing skills. It's helped me develop as a writer and get some more creativity and let me work on the lengths that I am writing. I also love how kind and helpful the users here are. They make sure that you feel welcomed and that you enjoy your time on the site. I could never have asked for anyone else to be friends with on the site. I feel like the people on this site are like a second family as they all treat you like they are once you get to know them.
Oh guys did you hear that?? For all you aspiring journalists, novelists and critics, you don’t need to go to school! Turns out you can get all your skills right here on WoP!
Nah, just kidding. Go to school.
However Laura’s point about writing got me thinking about all the things there are to do on WoP and I decided it was time to get some more information. So I made my way into chat to ask some users what their favourite things to do on WoP was and I got some great answers. And some interesting ones... Most users replied relatively normal answers such as the topics and socialising.
But Haldin Crosser, a lovely little lilac said ‘plotting the demise of Casimir Prewitt’.
What an interesting answer! These plot team members are really creative! I then asked him what his actual favourite thing to do was and he gave me the same answer.
Ohhhhhh. He was being serious...
And what about teachers? What do they think? I mean, with the stress of educating all the users of the site, they must feel the pressure. I spoke to Bethany Vendale about her job to get some behind the scenes.
Me: What’s your favourite thing about being a teacher on WoP?
Bethany: There are many things I love about being a teacher on WoP, but if I had to pick one thing, it would be the connections I've formed with the students, and the upper staff. Having a lime name has opened me up to new opportunities, and a world of creativity!
Me: Are there any bad parts to being a teacher?
Bethany: Nothing I would ever change! It's a dream.
That’s great to hear! It wouldn’t be great if all these hard working staff weren’t enjoying their jobs...
Out of all the people I spoke to, almost all of them had something to say about the people on WoP. How nice they are, how welcoming, how supportive. Everyone here is really special and important to making this website amazing so never forget that!
