Flora: Hello Mrs. Grey! The first question that I have for you is: What is it like being the Leader of the Prefects?

Andromeda: Goodness! Such a big answer to such a simple-sounding question! It is like... being part of a large Quidditch team, where you are protecting the audience who has come to watch the game. So many people and you have to work together to keep an eye out for the bludgers that sometimes come out of nowhere - and sometimes many at once! Other times, you just fly and have a good time and enjoy the wonderful people who came to the stands. But through it all, you know you are part of an amazing, hardworking team. They spend the most time out there, I make sure there's a full team and that they have what they need.

Flora: Oh, I love the Quidditch comparison and the Prefects are all such amazing people! My next question is: What are some things you do as the Head of Regulation of Magical Creatures?

Andromeda: I have liaison with our counterparts overseas. Make sure the magical creatures from there aren't getting loose and coming over here. I deal with people who mistreat their creatures and take care of the poor things, seeing to it that they are rehabilitated (the creatures, not the wizards). And I oversee laws about the rights and classifications of beasts, beings, and creatures. Not to mention a ton of paperwork!

Flora: That sounds like such an important job! I think that all magical creatures should be treated well. Do you have a favorite magical creature and if so, why is it your favorite?

Andromeda: It is so hard to choose! I do love mooncalves. I like how ridiculous and galumphy they are - and then - suddenly - they are graceful and magical. It gives me hope for myself.

Flora: Mooncalves are such cute creatures! So, how do you balance working in the ministry, being head of the prefects, and spending time with your family?

Andromeda: That is something I am still discovering! I couldn't do it without my incredibly patient husband. Peter works from home, often, and will watch the twins, which allows me to power through work at the Ministry. I spend 3 days there, then 2 at Hogwarts, and on those days, I can take one or both of the children with me. When Peter is traveling for his book promotions, my parents help with the children. I make certain to reserve weekends for family. It is so important. So far, so good.

Flora: Wow, you have such a busy schedule! The last question I have for you is: What is your favorite part about Hogwarts?

Andromeda: My favorite part is how it changes you. It becomes home and yet challenges you. While there, you will find friends, you will find people you can't seem to get along with - you'll discover things you are good at that you never knew and also things you can't seem to get a handle on the way you'd like. It shows you the paths and it's up to you to take them. I owe a lot to Hogwarts and that's why I insist on giving back to it.
