Hello Wizards and Witches!
We’ve talked about some annoying things last time which could be some phobic subjects… I guess it’s time to make a change as we’ll talk about… BIIIIIRDS!
What can be said about Augurey? First, they are looking just like vulture with some greenish black feathers. They are much less fleshy than their natural counterpart although they are magical.
Those birds are nicknamed Irish Phoenix as some of them are coming from Ireland, but also Britain. Since then, they can also be found in Northern Europe.
What’s specific about them? Their cries signal incoming rainfall but wizards thought it foretold death before. It was only after the book written by Gulliver Pokeby in 1824 that this belief stopped.
That is not the only specific thing about them. Their feathers repel ink and so are unusable as quills.
They also were the mascot for the Liechtenstein National Quidditch team back in the 90s/2000s.
These creatures are classified XX by the Ministry of Magic, and so are considered harmless and can be domesticated.
DID YOU KNOW? You can buy some Augurey in the Magical Menagerie!
Anyway, thanks for reading!
Have a nice day!
Magically Yours,
