MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Play Games) are one of the most popular genres in the gaming industry, with the most popular ones being the newly released Baldur’s Gate III, and the classic World of Warcraft. But other games such as Runescape, Warframe, or Final Fantasy XIV also thrive in popularity. I must say, for me personally Guild Wars 2 will always be my favourite. You may wonder, what does this have to do with World of Potter? Well, let me explain.
In the recent years Potterheads have more than ever anticipated the releases of Harry Potter-related games. Some of you may have grown up with the Playstation 1 or 2 and remember the old times with the first ever Harry Potter games. I for sure will never forget having to ask my dad to help me with the Flying Car section in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the first Playstation. But no matter how movie-related games were released, how many Lego versions, how many mobile games, and even despite Hogwarts Legacy, we want more. More freedom to create our characters, to live them the way we want, experience the school, we want to grow with them.
And that is where World of Potter comes into play.
You may wonder how this works. But lets dissect this a little bit and let us elaborate.
World of Potter US is an online text-based roleplaying game with additional functionality to enhance your experience! This means that you dive into the role of your character and write, act or play as them. You have free will within the restrictions of the universe, you can play your character in any way you want to and make connections with real people, experiencing exhilarating adventures together in form of roleplaying. This roleplay happens in the form of text. You reply to one another's posts and describe your actions, speech, or thoughts - even those that may should be left unsaid.
Our website is entirely fan-made and we pour a lot of love into it. While our website itself was created by its owner known by the username Valentine Hawksworth, we also have an Illustrator team creating new items, achievements, and any other images we may need.
Our team consists of Potterheads that dedicate their free time to create an immersive and fun environment for you, not only with lessons, events and plots, competitions, or articles, but by constantly working to improve the site to fit your needs!
World of Potter offers lessons crafted with love, made by real people behind the screen. They allow you to dive into the various topics that make this universe magical. Every Monday, a new lesson will unlock for each subject, teaching you everything you want to know about unforgivable curses, magical creatures, the secrets of potion making, the art of transfiguration, and much more. While writing for these subjects, you can experience the lessons from the eyes of your character, let them make important choices, and develop not only their magical abilities, but their personality. But don’t worry, if you ever end up failing your exams you can always repeat them!
Not only can you choose your very own pet to be alongside you, but you can collect items such as Wizard Cards or even dragon eggs. Our stores offer a vast amount of items that align nicely with the lore and represent the magical universe we move around in - all of which can be purchased by spending in-game money which you can get by solving riddles, helping during catastrophes, joining classes, or winning in competitions!
Just make sure to not spend everything mindlessly, you’ll need some food and drinks as well, else you may faint and end up in the Hospital Wing!
We offer what we miss so dearly in Hogwarts Legacy - Quidditch! The popular game is played in form of a trivia quiz, and it is anything but boring! Each team fights hard not only to gain points, but also to avoid Bludgers, score goals with Quaffles, and to catch the Golden Snitch! Each year all houses battle each other to win the Quidditch Trophy, and each year we are up for surprises.
But if you are afraid of heights or being hit by a very heavy ball coming at you with full speed, maybe you rather enjoy the peace and quiet of potion brewing. Whether you want to charm your crush with a love potion, prank someone with the babbling beverage, or simply increase your luck with Felix Felicis, you can actually do so if you know what you are doing!
