Hermione Granger is perhaps one of the most important characters in the Harry Potter films and books. She is known for her intelligence, loyalty to her friends and, of course, her magical abilities. But what do you actually know about this famous Gryffindor?
Who is Hermione Granger?
Hermione Granger was born on September 19, 1979, and grew up with her Muggle parents. They are both dentists. On her eleventh birthday, she received her letter from Hogwarts and began her education. She was sorted into Gryffindor.
At first, Hermione seems to be mainly a bookworm, but she soon shows that she is much more than that. Her knowledge and logical thinking often help her friends Harry Potter and Ron Weasley out of dangerous situations.
Hermione and her wand and magic
Hermione's wand was made of vine, had a dragon heartstring core and was 10¾ inches long. Later, she temporarily had a wand made of walnut, also with a dragon heartstring as its core. Hermione's Patronus eventually turned out to be an otter. She learned this spell (Expecto Patronum) during the meetings of Dumbledore's Army.
Hermione Granger's most important achievements
Hermione often helped Harry Potter in the fight against Voldemort. To do so, she frequently used her intelligence, such as when brewing a Polyjuice Potion. Later, she also used a Time-Turner to turn back important events. Hermione also stood up for the rights of house-elves.
Hermione Granger after Hogwarts
After the war with Voldemort, Hermione returned to Hogwarts to finish her education after all. Even during her time at Hogwarts, Hermione developed a special bond with one of her best friends. While many people might have thought she would end up with Harry Potter – the other friend in the close-knit trio – Hermione eventually married Ron Weasley.
Together, Ron and Hermione had two children. She also built a career as Minister of Magic.
