Today we are gonna talk about another magical wizarding family. They are the Gaunt family or the house of gaunts. It's the part -1 blog about this family. They are one of the Sacred twenty eight. Now we must be thinking what what is the sacred twenty eight. Just like I thought the first time I heard about it *chuckles* .
The sacred twenty eight is the twenty eight British families which were truly pure blood by the 1930s. I am gonna tell you all about the twenty eight families. Let's start with the gaunts.
The gaunts were very wealthy and powerful once, because of having descendants from Salazar Slytherin and Cadmus Peverell. However their family gold was wasted long ago before the last of the lineage was born. Gormlaith Gaunt was an Irish witch, and the founder of Ilvermony School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She had burned down the cottage of her sister Rionach and her husband William Sayre and killed them because of helping their muggle neighbors and betraying the belief of pure blood supremacy. She also kidnapped their child isolt hoping to raise the pure-blood tradition. But Isolt fled from there and found the wizarding school Ilvermony with her husband James steward.
Gormlaith getting hurt by this arrives at Ilvermony to exact revenge. Gormlaith arrives at Ilvermorny to exact her revenge against Isolt and her family Her plans were going well. she had managed to back the Steward family into room and was preparing to murder James and their daughters, when Isolt screamed William named puckwudgie (a goblin type creature native to USA) that shot Gormalith with an arrow, killing her instantly.
