I Sought The Stories

Part 2 of chapter 1.. okay we're getting somewhere XD

So anyway.... i have almost all of chapter 2 written so that will be the next blog post!! But fiishing u[ chapter 1 is important and I like to make people wait for the next chapter...

The rest of the bus ride was quite uneventful and the two fourth graders chatted about their routine for the afternoon. The bus pulled up to the school and all the kids filed off. Harley and Kayla ran over to the gym set. As Harley swung, she saw a middle school boy ran out of the building. How odd.

The girl both played for ten minutes before the bell rang. Kayla grabbed Harley’s hand and practically dragged her into school because Harley wouldn’t get off the swings. Middle and high schoolers walked lazily through the halls, all while avoiding the yelling elementary kids running into school.

Harley and Kayla were very good at slithering through all the older kids. Everyone at Apple Creek Central were pros by the end of Kindergarten, for it was a daily thing. The high schoolers and middle schoolers only passed through the main hall where they also saw the elementary kids.

Little kids in my way! A voice echoes through Harley’s head. It seemed as if it was spoken directly at her. She whipped her head around in the direction she thought the sound had come from. But no one seemed to pay attention to her. She dug her fingers into her ears on instinct.

I wonder if anyone can hear me. Logan certainly could. The voice said again. Harley stopped right where she was walking. The hallway seemed to fade, and black surrounded her vision. I’m going to faint! She screeched in her mind. She wanted desperately to grab ahold of something, anything, to steady herself. Yet she couldn’t move.

You’re not going to faint. That every voice whispered. Who are you? Harley could no longer see the hallway, and it felt like her body was floating.

My name’s Emery. Who are you?

Harley.

Hi, Harley.

Hi, Emery. Are you also feeling confuzzled.

Harley could hear the girl chuckle. It was a nice, warm, and soothing laugh. Yes, but this happened to me earlier this morning. I could hear the thoughts of another boy in my grade. He realized it but took off running to the swing set outside my school.

Holy shamoly! I saw a boy run out of my school building.

We must go to the same school. Apple Creek?

Yes. What grade are you in?

8th, you?

4th. I have combined lunch with 8th graders!

Ok, Harley. I will find you during lunch.

Harley felt weight return to her body and she wiggled her fingers. Her vision was restored. “Emery?” She asked out loud. But when she looked around the hall, no one was there. Her body turned brittle as if she could break at any moment. She was going to be late to class!!
