Looking to up your pranking game? Need revenge on our pesky poltergeist? Or are you simply bored and hoping to have a little fun? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’ve come to the right blog!

Welcome to the first ever edition of Magicalizing Muggle Pranks, where we take the most mundane concepts of mischief making and transform them into epic chaos creations!

In this series, we will be covering any and all mundane things that can be used for pranking and see what upgrades can be done by infusing some of our unique and powerful magic skills that we as students of Hogwarts work so hard to master.

Today’s topic is quite a shocking combination:

Handshake Buzzers & Locomotor Wibbly!

For those of you purebloods out there that may not have come across one of these humorous toys, the basic concept is a simple gadget small enough to conceal in the palm of your hand. When the victim of this pranking item goes in for an innocent enough handshake, they’ll receive a shocking sensation. Now typically this is just a minor sort of buzzing sensation and not an actual electrocution, more like a strong vibration. It’s intended to be just enough to startle the unsuspecting.

Now, consider the jelly-legs curse (or jinx). This curse does pretty much what the name implies, it makes the target’s legs jiggly so they wobble about as if they were made of jello. Picture this combined with the handbuzzer’s shock, and you have a full on harmless yet extremely comical electrical effect!

Theoretically, the method for this may be as simple as casting the spell directly on to the mundane hand buzzer. Wait, wait, wait….hold up! Did I say “theoretically”? Kidding! This guy wouldn’t simply throw out ideas without testing them out myself, don’t worry reader’s… Casper’s got your back! The first few times I tried this, I’ll admit it didn’t go exactly as planned but part of that was simply a matter of lacking guinea pigs. You’d be surprised how chicken some of our fellow peers here at Hogwarts can be! I mean honestly, it’s just a little buzz… or two.

Anyway, what I learned very quickly is that it is extremely important to aim your wand directly at the small red button on the buzzer and NOT the metal box surrounding it. If your spell hits the metal rather than the trigger, it bounces off the reflective surface and if you are not careful… directly back at you! (Yes, my legs still shake when I work but it was worth it for the blog.)

If you are successful however, you will find this method to be very successful! The target gets both zapped and wobbly all at the same time! Both effects are short term so don’t worry about any lasting problems. The only downside to this process is that you do have to recast the jinx before each use as it seems to only last one time.

So, venture forth my fellow pranksters and those curious in nature, and give it a good try! Let us know how this little gimmick worked for you and what sort of shocking events followed.

I sincerely hope you have enjoyed this little bit of pranksters' genius. If so, feel free to like and comment with your thoughts and/or suggestions!

Keep your eyes out for future blogs covering things such as: silly putty, whoopie cushions, elmer’s glue, and much much more!
