Hey there fellow Woppians! Welcome to my second blog! I'm Brennan and in my next few blogs I'm going to be speaking about the filming locations within the Harry Potter movies!
Today, we're going to be continuing with the places in London where scenes have been filmed.
A lot of people know Great Scotland Yard to be a board game, or well, that's where I know it from. However, the scene when Harry and Ron entered the phone box to descend into the Ministry of Magic during The Prisoner of Azkaban was filmed here. However, if you wanted to visit, you could sure see the wonderful location, but the phone box isn't actually there. It was just used as a prop during filming.
Another very popular place which has been used in two of the Harry Potter movies; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows Part 1 (my personal favourite.) This building appeared as the exterior of Grimmauld Place which is very easily recognized. The reason that it took such an odd shape was because there was a water reservoir in the square which eventually led to it having a steep incline.
One of the places in London that I really admire. Mainly because of the West End and the wonderful theatres that are located there with the wonderful shows that they produce. However, this place was used to film when we see Harry, Hermione and Ron rushing through London’s West End. AKA: When they almost got his by the double decker bus.
This venue was used in Harry Potter and the Phillosophers Stone as the exterior for Diagon Alley and the Leaky Cauldron. It's also known to be one of London's very famous Victorian Markets'
