I Sought The Stories

Hey everyone!!!!

I am sooo glad to be back! I hope you all are as well. I will be going back too my every two week posting schedule.

I have two stories planned for this school year and got an early start on one of them, because school doesn't start for another whole week. So I've had extra time to write stories.

So this blog will be the first chapter of my new story. This certain story has a very rich history that I am happy to share with everyone.

It all started in IRL fourth grade... my four friends and I sat next to eachother every day and, as the young kids we were, came up with the coolest game. We were the Dragon Riding Power Team, or the Dragon Riders (little did i know that was a book title). We played it during lunch, recess, freetime, and friday freetime. We even had tranformation dances because of me watching Powerpuff Girls Z non-stop. We all had names and certain powers.

All of the carcahters in this story are based off of the original carachters from our fourth grade game, but changed. Here are the resemblences. Harley: the name one of my friends used back in fourth grade for her carcahter. Logan: simply the only boy is our group of 4 girls and 1 one. Mocha: only resemblance is appearance to IRL person. Ivy: name one of friends used for her carachter, Emery: i was obsessed with that name in fourth grade.

I hope you enjoy reading this. More info about carchters and DRAGONS in later posts.

Harley Carmichael jumped around her room and jumped on her bed. She jumped off her bed, around back on the floor, and kept this up for quite a while. She didn’t seem to care for the loud pounding she was causing, almost making her whole house shake. Her light brown hair flung wildly around her head while her hazel eyes danced with excitement. She was a little bundle of energy.

“Harley!” Called a woman’s voice. “If you keep shaking this house you will NOT be in the talent show tonight!”

Harley stopped her jumping and plopped down on her bed. “Okay, Mom! I stopped!” She swung her legs and leaped off her bed. “My breakfast better be ready when I come down.”

“It won’t be if you keep up your tone!”

Harley giggled quietly and opened her closet. Today was totally a dress day. She could just feel it! She stood on her tiptoes and pushed her clothes back and forth before finding the perfect dress. It was a daisy yellow with a pink sash that formed a flower.

Once she was dressed she brushed her wavy hair, then used her hands to fluff it a bit. When she looked herself over in her mirror she twirled around before striking a few poses.

“What are you doing?”

Harley grumbled and turned around to her bedroom door where her little brother stood, blanket and sippy cup in hand. “It’s called modeling, Eligah,” She emphasized on the last part. But Eli just stood there. Harley sighed. “Do you like my dress?”

“No.” Eli threw his cup onto Harley’s floor.

She gasped, watching almost in slow motion as the lid popped off. Orange juice splattered all over her wood floors. Her wood floors! She stared at Eli, her face beet red.

“ELIIIIIIGAHHH!!” She screamed and Eli put his hands over his ears and giggled. He started running but he wasn’t fast enough. Harley leaped over the juice and swung herself out into the hallway. Eli was waddling down the stairs when their mother blocked his path.

“Mom! Eli threw his sippy cup and it spilled ALL OVER!!” She stomped her foot in anger.

“Get some paper towels, clean it up, then get down here.” Her mother’s face was calm, but Harley knew it was only the calm before the storm.

“Okay.”

When Harley was finished she found her mom had prepared pancakes for breakfast. Eli already had sticky syrup plastered on his face; she wasn’t surprised. She started eating almost as soon as she sat down. She could not wait for today.

Tonight was her school talent show. Apple Creek Central School was having an all-grade talent show and Harley had been working on her act for a whole month! It was the talk of the school. Even when she ventured into the high school section of her school, that was all she could hear the big kids talking about.

“Will you be at the talent show?” She asked.

“I’ll try.” Mrs. Carmichael sighed. “I might get caught up with patients. But Eli and your father will be there for certain.”

“But Dad will have his phone to record?” Harley asked, lowering her head.

“Most definitely. So even if I’m not there, I’ll still be able to watch your performance.”

Harley finished her breakfast in only a few minutes. She packed her backpack and slipped her shoes on.

“Harley!” Mrs. Carmichael called. “Do I get a hug?”

Harley runs into her mother's arms and squeezes her tightly.

“Is this tight enough?” She laughed.

“Yes, yes! Now go, don’t want to miss the bus.”

Harley skipped out the door and then grabbed her rollerblades that laid on the front steps. She slipped off her sneakers, stuffed them in her backpack and quickly put on the skates. She could hear a deep rumbling off in the distance, so she quickly strapped in and stood up.

She pushed off with one foot, then the other, and she was off. She held her arms out wide as she glided down the sidewalk. She sees the school bus at the end of the road and skates harder to try to get there in time.

To stop herself, she grabbed onto the streetlamp and spun around it one time before stepping onto the bus. It was now easy for her to board the school bus with skates. Once she sat down, she exchanged her skates for her sneakers.

She pressed her face and hands into the window and watched the houses go by. Harley let out the long sigh she had been holding in all morning. No, it wasn’t because she was going almost 20 miles down the sidewalk and then swinging around a streetlamp. No, it wasn’t the fact that she had forgotten to grab her helmet.

Her eyes widened. She had forgotten her helmet! Mom was sure to notice. She slithered down in her seat. Gosh, she would be in so much trouble when she got home.

“Harley!” The voice of a young girl lifted Harley’s mood instantly.

“Kayla, hey! Ok, so guess what I just did?” She sat up straight and used her hands for dramatic effects.

The dark skinned fourth-grader looked at Harley in confusion. “Um, well, I don’t know,” she pushed her long frizzy hair behind one ear, “But you gonna tell me?”

“So I almost missed the bus. Almost... I kinda didn’t. Anyway! I forgot my helmet-”

“Uh-oh, you should be more careful.”

“I know, Kay! It was an accident! So I did something I had never done before-”

“Without a helmet.”

“Without a helmet. Thank you for being so protective. So I was going at least 20 miles per hour and I had to slow down before I crashed into the bus so I grabbed the street lamp and spun around it! It was so much fun!” Her face was full of glee and it radiated for even Kayla to smile.

“You’ll have to show me sometime.” Kayla laughed.

“Definitely. Okay, you ready for the talent show?” Harley asked.

“Yeah, I stayed up late last night adding sequins to our costumes.”

“You did? Yikes, how late? Cause my bedtime is eight o clock.”

“Just until 9:30, so it wasn’t that late. It was worth it though, are costumes are stunning.” Kayla reached down and patted her bookbag. “They’re nice and safe in here!”

The rest of the bus ride was quite uneventful and the two fourth graders chatted about their routine for the afternoon. The bus pulled up to the school and all the kids filed off. Harley and Kayla ran over to the gym set.
