Welcome back readers, to another mythical creature of the week!
As you probably already guessed from the title, this week’s creature is the unicorn! These magical creatures are born with gold hair that changes to silver as they mature and eventually becomes a white so bright it makes snow look grey. They have golden hooves and a long swiveled horn that begins growing around age four.
Their horn has purification properties, which are used in Antidotes to Common Poisons. Additionally, unicorn hair is used as a powerful wand core and in many potions, although it’s properties are unknown.
Unicorns are native to Northern Europe and can be found in the Forbidden Forest here at Hogwarts. They prefer women and can be uneasy around men and taming one is very difficult, which is why The Ministry has given them an XXXX rating.
Slaying a unicorn is very frowned upon, drinking their blood even more so. From the moment the silvery-blue liquid touches a person’s lips, they are cursed to live a half-life for killing something so innocent for their own benefit. Slaying a unicorn is considered a terrible crime clearly Phoebe doesn’t know that and doing so can carry serious consequences especially when it’s with a crossbow PHOEBE.( She hunts them for fun) Catching these magical creatures is extremely difficult as they can run faster than a werewolf, so good luck trying to have a unicorn as a pet!
