You see, each class needs a tutor or two and Professors always love the help they can get as they live very busy lives that surround the constant gradings of all our amazing homework and planning lessons and all sorts of ‘Professory’ things. I managed to find some Snowflakes for you guys today that were excited to give you guys the inside scoop of being a Tutor for their favorite classes. Who knows, maybe one of these interviews might give you the boost you need for your true calling of being a tutor here at Hogwarts!

Second Round: The Assistant Teachers aka the brightest Snowflakes!

Name: Aneesa Bellview

Year: Fourth Year

Class: Muggle Studies

What made you interested in joining the job you have?

When I first started here, at Hogwarts, I knew that I wanted to use my gifts to an advantage that could not only help myself, but others. Being as Assistant Teacher has allowed me to use the knowledge I have on certain subjects to help students both my age and younger. It's a bit like a tutor, in a way, which lifts both the confidence of those whom I help, along with myself.

How long have you been on your team?

I joined my team only a few weeks after the start of my first year. I started as a Potions AT but changed to Muggle Studies last year.

Could you briefly describe your job from your perspective and what it is that you do?

Being an Assistant Teacher could sometimes be considered a stressful job, as we do, sometimes, have to deal with strange issues concerning the performance of a student's assigned homework. I help grade the homework of the subject I am the AT in, which is Muggle Studies, as well as deal with complaints or overdue assignments.

What’re some of the fun things you’ve gotten to do with your job?

I enjoy working with the teachers, especially Miss Saunders, as well as my fellow AT's. With the title of Assistant Teacher, I am able to ref duels of other students, which is probably one of my favorite things. I also love to see student's whom I have helped concerning homework accomplish the task set before them, and strive for perfection.

What do you think is the most important quality someone needs to have in order to strive at this job?

To be an Assistant Teacher, I think it is very important for one to be patient and understanding because not all students have the same capabilities to do the same assignment. Some need more help, while others will need none at all. One must also need to have the motivation, because they must be able to strive for perfection in their own work, allowing themselves to further their knowledge in the subject.

If you had to say something to a student aspiring to join the ranks of your job, what advice would you give them?

You know, life is a hard thing. It's not meant to be an easy ride, especially in school. Yes, school may come easily for some, but for others, it is one of the most dreadful parts of life. By being an Assistant Teacher, you commit yourself to making someone else's life a tiny bit better, because dedicating your time to help another student with their homework could immensely impact their life decisions. You could change the way they look at the problem set before them. Yes, I'm talking about homework, but to be an Assistant Teacher, you commit your life to helping others. Are you up for the challenge? Then hop on board, prepare for one of the best rides of your life.

Name: Alexandria Chavez

Year: Third Year

Class: Transfiguration

What made you interested in joining the job you have?

What interested me in becoming an AT is the perspective of the job itself and how I narrowed it down to being an AT for Transfiguration is because the subject itself I as well enjoy and motivates me to help others that partake in it whether it's my subject or not I love to give a helping hand.

How long have you been on your team?

I have been apart of the AT Team for quite a while now and I don't plan on withdrawing anytime soon because I love it and I love what I do.

Could you briefly describe your job from your perspective and what it is that you do?

Hmm, when a fellow student hands in a homework and whether its graded correctly or not I kindly try to help in any way I can whether its varying or complaint, I always do the best I can because I know how it is, pretty safe to say we all do when we turn in homework and receive it back.

What’re some of the fun things you’ve gotten to do with your job?

The most fun thing for me is just partaking in it and helping to the best of my ability, I remember a fellow student sent a complaint and when I fixed it she sent me a kind owl of thanks and of how quickly I looked over and helped with it, now that made me know and sure I'm doing what I do right!

What do you think is the most important quality someone needs to have in order to strive at this job?

Patience and understanding for sure if one is very important being an AT, patience because sometimes it can be slow and other times it gets piled on top and as for understanding, well just in general of what I mentioned and plus with those who send a complaint for whichever reason we have to understand because what if it was vice versa, you'd probably want to get it checked and graded properly and if it doesn't work out as you wanted didn't hurt to send it in, right?

If you had to say something to a student aspiring to join the ranks of your job, what advice would you give them?

Hmm, some advice I'd give is to always try your best and if you ever need help always go to your Professor you are assisting with, they are there for you and it's better to ask for help always because you want to make sure you're doing it right. As I said before I turn to Professor Fawley a lot and I feel like I'm a bother but she reminds me that it's ok so of course, I know how it feels exactly.
