Overview
Rubeus Hagrid was born to a wizard, Mr Hagrid, and a giantess, Fridwulfa, making him half-human and half-giant. The man was born on December 6th, 1928, and raised by his father starting at the age of three, when his mother left for the Giant colony. Once whilst talking about his mom’s death, Rubeus mentioned how bad of a mother she was.
Personality
Rubeus was one loyal and charismatic person. He was always there for everyone in need, and would always stand beside Albus Dumbledore, claiming how good of a person he was. He had a great love for creatures and animals, and Care of Magical Creatures really was Hagrid's class.
He also had a sensitive side that came to expression after losing someone close and was not the best at keeping secrets. Overall, the half-giant was a person that everyone needs in their life. Cheerful and sweet.

History
He started Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1940 and was sorted into Gryffindor, but tended to get into trouble often. In Rubeus’ third year, Tom Riddle (later known as Lord Voldemort), opened the Chamber of Secrets, releasing a dangerous beast that attacked multiple Muggle-borns and blamed it on Rubeus, knowing he had a dangerous pet Acromantula which he named Aragog.
Rubeus was later expelled from Hogwarts, but his father was not alive during that time, and the Ministry of Magic broke his wand, not wanting him to practice magic. Albus Dumbledore (who was the Transfiguration professor at the time), believed that the young one is innocent, and convinced Armando Dippet (Headmaster at the time) to let him be the Gamekeeper (watching over the Hogwarts Grounds, and being the Hogwarts security). Hagrid continued doing magic with his pink umbrella that probably had parts of his broken wand in it, and took over the Gamekeeper job as a whole duty when Ogg retired.
He joined the Order of the Phoenix and was the one to save Harry Potter in Godric’s Hollow when his parents died. He brought him back to Albus and Minerva who left the boy with his aunt and uncles. Many people loved Hagrid and claimed that he had saved their lives many times. He was the one guiding first-year students, opening the Entrance Gate, and even got a cheer-up birthday party shortly after one of his pets died.
He was sent to the Azkaban prison in 1993 due to the Chamber of Secrets opening again. Despite Albus being on Hagrid’s side, Cornelius Fudge (Minister of Magic at that time) was determined and sent him to Azkaban. He still managed to help Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, telling them to follow the spiders that led them to Aragog. They got the important information, and the attack, indeed, had nothing to do with Rubeus. Harry, later on, found the entrance, killed the basilisk, and demolished Tom Riddle’s diary. Thanks to them, Hagrid was soon let out of Azkaban and became the Care of Magical Creatures professor.
During the Second Wizarding War, he and Madame Maxime were sent to the Giant colony by Albus Dumbledore to try and stop the giants from joining Lord Voldemort’s army. The trip didn’t go exactly to plan, and the two fled back. Despite the battles after the Second War (Battle of the Astronomy Tower, Battle of the Seven Potters, Battle of Hogwarts), Rubeus stayed strong and played essential roles in protecting people.
After everything, the man continued his work at Hogwarts and delivered acceptance letters to Muggle children. He also helped them with shopping for supplies, just like he helped Harry.
