Avifors is a spell that transforms smaller objects and creatures into birds. The spell is viewed as a transfigurative jinx when it's used to transform creatures into birds.

History

Avifors is a transfiguration spell that transforms objects into birds. The amount of birds differs from the object that the spell is cast at; the bigger the object, the more birds will conjure.

The Avifors spell is often very hard to learn as a first-year student, therefore it takes a lot of practice to learn. A student at Hogwarts nearly fainted in a class once, when he couldn't transform the object he wanted into birds.

It’s said that this spell can be used on creatures like Blast-Ended Skrewts and Dugbogs.
