Overview
Spongify or the Softening Charm can be used on a target to soften or change it to become more spongey, squishy, rubbery and even bouncy.
History
The softening charm is a first-year charm, although it is also occasionally taught as a second-year Transfiguration spell as well. It has many practical uses, such as being used on Spongify carpets. It has also been used in duels to hinder one's opponent.
