Overview
The severing charm is a basic charm that is used to cut or severe an object.
History
The Severing Charm is a first-year charm. It is used often in Herbology classes as it causes precise cuts that are excellent for plant clippings. Due to the nature of this spell it can be extremely dangerous if used inappropriately. The most severe consequence of misuse could be death. The Severing Charm found its origins in the fifteenth Century where it was used to deliver precise cuts in order for its creator, Delfina Crimp - Seamstress, to create fine clothes.
