Overview
Finite Incantatem, otherwise known as the General Counter-Spell is a second year spell. The General Counter-Spell can be used to stop the effects of many spells, though spells that fall into the jinx or curse category often require a more specific counter-spell.
History
While the origins of this spell remain unknown, it has been used by many great witches and wizards throughout its history. For a spell that many would consider simple, and easy, Finite Incantatem was once used by a group of magical folk to stop a curse cast by Grindlewald from spreading through Paris.
