Overview

Muffilato is a fifth year charm and is used on a target to block their ability to hear sound. It works by creating a buzzing sound that fills one's ears, not allowing the target to hear anything around them.

History

Muffilato was created by Severus Snape during his time as a Hogwarts student. At some point in time post graduate he had the spell officially recognised and it was taught at his alum mater.
