Overview

Native to Hungary, as the name suggests, the Hungarian Horntain is a dragon. It is seen as one of the most dangerous dragons in the Wizarding World, perhaps even the most dangerous.

About the Hungarian Horntail

The Hungarian Horntail is covered in black scales and has an appearance like a lizard. Its eyes are yellow with vertical slits similar to cat’s eyes. On its head there are bronze horns and bronze spikes on its tail that it will use in combat if needed.

The flame of the Hungarian Horntail can reach up to fifty feet and its roar is a howling scream. Its breath could reach incredible temperatures and it’s said to make stone turn extremely hot within seconds. Their eggs have a cement color and have very hard shells. Their diet consists of cattle, sheep, goats, and when possible, humans.

Horntails are well known for their vicious and aggressive behavior. This specific breed is even more aggressive when they’re protecting their young. The young dragons are known to be quicker and more vicious, which makes them even more aggressive than the adult dragons.

They’re not only known for their viciousness and hot breaths, but also because they’re incredibly fast in flight. This was shown when Harry Potter fought one during the Triwizard Tournament. The dragon was able to keep up with his Firebolt, a broomstick that is capable of going from 0 to 150 miles per hour in just ten seconds.
