Overview

Native to China, the Zouwu is a multi-colored creature that resembles a giant cat the size of an elephant.

It's a feline-like beast with a striped body similar to a tiger, a mane similar to a lion, four long and curling fangs in its mouth, long claws and a very long and colorful tail.

They are extremely fast creatures, capable of moving 1000 miles easily in a day's time.

They are able to apparate and bypass the Ministry's measures against Disapparition.

The sound of a jingling bell can be used to calm the Zouwu, similar to the behavior of a domestic house cat.
 

History

• September 1927: Newt tamed and cared for an escaped Zouwu, making her a home inside his suitcase.
• 2020s: The Zouwu from 1927 served as a foundable during the catastrophe. Members of the Statute of Secrecy managed to free her.
• 2021: A baby Zouwu named Josephine was born in the Magizoology wing of a London zoo, where she then escaped into Marylebone, causing a long chase and one of the largest uses of the memory charm in history.
