Overview
This magical plant's bark and twigs are used to brew potions, mainly the wiggenweld potion and is guarded by bowtruckles. This tree was said to protect anyone who touched it from dark creatures as long as they remained in contact with it.
History
- 1890 - 1891: An unnamed Herbology Professor was injured by a bowtruckle after cutting open a wiggentree.
- 1987 - 1988: Pamona Sprout taught fourth year Herbology students how to handle wiggentrees.
- Matilda Grimblehawk and her partner investigated a situation where muggle construction workers were attacked by bowtruckles after cutting into a wiggentree. Another wiggentree sapling was later planted in place of the original.
