Overview
Leprechauns are known to be notorious pranksters, but were never malicious or inflicted lasting damage towards humans. They are native to Ireland and are classified as beasts by the ministry. Even though they are sentient beings and are capable of speech, they never requested the ministry to reclassify them as beings.
Dangers
Leprechauns primarily live in forests and other wooded areas. Their diet mainly consists of plants, mostly leaves, and also used these leaves to create clothing.
Their reputation of being pranksters comes from their need to attract muggle attention by playing pranks on them. This led them to being featured a lot in stories and legends for muggle children. These creatures are able to fly in a formation to make different shapes and letters in the sky. Leprechauns were able to create a gold-like substance that eventually disappears after a few hours. These were one of their favourite pranks and this Leprechaun gold often took the form of Galleons.
