Pygmy Puffs are miniature Puffskeins and are primarily sold at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.

About the creature

The fur of a Pygmy Puff was pink or purple and they were round in shape. They were known to roll around and squeak.

These furry creatures were originally bred by Fred and George Weasley, and it was believed to have been very popular, as the twins claimed that they could not breed them fast enough for the demand. The Pygmy Puffs were part of the WonderWitch line, a line of products specifically invented for witches. Outside of Weasley’s Wizard Weezes, you could also buy Pygmy Puffs at the Magical Menagerie.

History

Ginny Weasley bought a Pygmy Puff that was named Arnold in Weasley’s Wizard Weezes in August of 1996. She managed to sneak the little creature into Hogwarts. Although Argus Filch banned all joke items from the twins, Pygmy Puffs could be described as very small and harmless creatures and were not under this ban.

Ginny had also once joked that Ron, her brother, had a tattoo of a Pygmy Puff. She said this because Romilda Vane kept asking her if Harry Potter really had a tattoo of a Hippogriff.
