History

Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop is a writing supply store on High Street in Hogsmeade Village. The store sells various quills, parchment, and stationery for students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The shop includes rainbow ink and extra-large quills. However, students usually prefer to shop at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes or Zonko’s Joke Shop for their own special quills and other stationery.

In the 1890s, Ethel Wigley owned the shop. She was especially ethical in her use of bird feathers and would only sell quills made from feathers that had already fallen off the birds. At this period in time, the shop was often full of cats that would roam around, either because they liked the feather quills or because they liked the treats Ethel would give them.
