Overview
Chinese Chomping Cabbage is a magical plant, presumably native to China. It has the ability to chomp on foods, as the name suggests. It is also an ingredient required in Skele-Gro, a healing potion.
Specifics
During the 19th century, an unidentified Dark wizard used some Chinese Chomping Cabbages to attempt to take over the British Ministry of Magic. However, he was stopped by Helen Thistlewood, an Auror. She was actually only armed with a basket of Bouncing Bulbs.
Fifth-year students throughout different generations have been taught about Chinese Chomping cabbages. It was introduced as an example of flora, and that it has uses outside of potions. During 1890-1891, the professor was Mirabel Garlick, and during 1988-1989, it was Professor Sprout.
In 1995, Hermione Granger had sketched a diagram of the plant for a Potions assignment, which was given by Professor Snape in her fifth year.
Throughout the 2010-2011 school year, Chinese Chomping Cabbage seeds could be purchased in the Bewildering Blooms shop, Hogsmeade. A student could have possibly bought some for Herbology Career Research. Later, another student placed an order for thirty to help support his father and his argument about how Herbology was more than watering plants.
