Overview
Veela are human-like magical beings that most commonly appear as young, beautiful women. They had white skin as bright as the moon and hair that was white-gold. Veela are known to be seductive creatures that lured unsuspecting people into behaving impulsively to receive admiration from these women. These magical beings are primarily native to Bulgaria, but are known to also live in other parts of Europe, and are also the mascots for the Bulgarian National Quidditch team.
Nature
These human-like magical beings had white skin and white-gold hair that seemed to be fanned out behind them, even when there was no wind present.
Veela are known to be able to mesmerize and attract those who were not careful with their seductive dance. If you were under their seductive spell, you would be in a hypnotic-like state and your mind would be completely, blissfully blank. In that moment, the only thing that would matter to you was the Veela and their dance, and you will believe that something very terrible will happen once their dance stopped. A consequence of being under this spell was that people felt the need to do something crazy in order to impress the Veela, without any thought about their personal safety. Outrageous claims would also be made to impress the Veela, even though these are always false.
It was possible to block out the allure by putting your fingers in your ears and you could break someone out of the trance by a mild slap in the face or a kick in the shin.
Magic
Veela magic could be used by Veela themselves, but also humans with Veela heritage. The reason why they are able to put others in a trance so easily is because they are always, under any circumstance, flawless, graceful, and very attractive. Part of their magic was the ability to add to their natural appeal and attract more people, most known cases are men that are attracted to women.
Throughout history, there were instances of certain wizards being more immune to Veela’s charm than others. One of these wizards was Harry Potter, who fell victim to their beauty the first time they entered the Great Hall, but was able to be relatively unaffected when he was later confronted by Fleur Delacour. This suggests that men who were exposed to it over an unknown time period could become resistant to it, but it could still take full effect if the man was surprised in a way. Veela could also transform into a harpy-like creature when they were angered and would throw fireballs from their hands. Full-blooded Veela certainly had this ability to transform, but it is unsure if this is also the case with half-blooded Veela.

Veela Hair
The hair of a Veela was a magical substance that could be used as the core of a wand. Wands that had this core were usually used by part-Veelas.History
During the Quidditch World Cup in the year 1994, Veela were the mascot of the Bulgarian National Quidditch team. After they finished their performance during the match against Ireland, some Irish fans were under the allure of the Veela and very briefly thought they were supporting Bulgaria. This made them extremely confused as to why they were wearing Irish merchandise.Also during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup, the Veela became very easily angered by the Leprechauns, the mascot of the Irish National Quidditch team, and this resulted in a fight on the pitch between the two mascots. The fight ended up with the Veela being sent off the pitch.
