Belonging to the plant family Pinaceae, Cedar is a species of coniferous tree.

Specifics

Garrick Ollivander claimed that whenever he met someone carrying a cedar wand, they were usually loyal and showed strength. His father once said, "you will never fool the cedar carrier," to which he agreed, saying the cedar wands found their homes where there was perception.

Garrick went on to say he hadn't met the owner of a cedar wand yet that he cared to cross, especially if those the owner cared about were harmed. Those who challenge a cedar wand carrier would be shocked to find their challenger to show the potential to be a frightening adversary.

Some of the known carriers of cedar wands were Horace Slughorn and Zora Farrell.
