Overview
The Doxy, also known as the Biting Fairy, is a small magical beast that is at times mistaken for a fairy. The doxy is often found throughout North America and Northern Europe, preferring colder climates. Doxies are a part of the Beast division and are classified as XXX by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Deeming them no trouble for competent Wizards.
Doxies produce Black eggs which are laid underground. A queen Doxy is able to lay up to five-hundred eggs in one batch, these eggs usually hatch after about two to three weeks. The Doxies eggs, if ingested, can cause severe illness.

Defence
Doxies are considered pests that can infest houses, living in the draperies. There are only a few ways to get rid of a doxy infestation:- A good amount of Doxycide, a Black colored, foul-smelling potion that paralyzes Doxies for a period of time.
- A Knockback Jinx, though the queens were more resistant to the jinx.
- The Venomous Tentacula, whose favorite snack is a Doxy.
