Overview

Abraxans are a breed of Winged Horses. They are also a rare possible form of a Corporeal Patronus. Abraxans are about the size of an elephant and extremely powerful. They look like palomino horses, with fiery red eyes and hooves that are bigger than dinner plates. They only drink single-malt whiskey and require forceful handling because of their sheer size. Their hair is a whitish color and is frequently used in potion-making. Madame Olympe Maxime, Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, bred Abraxans and used them to pull her carriage. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, a Hogwarts student cared for an Abraxan in the Magical Creatures Reserve. Rubeus Hagrid later asked the student to help him research Abraxans.
