Lexicon Ledgers #01

Order for a world known for chaos
What is the Lexicon?

Welcome, welcome, welcome to a place where we promote order in a world filled with mayhem.
Lexicon is the Wikipedia of World of Potter US, written by our own Librarians on-site on various topics around the fandom, including, but not limited to, characters, magical plants and potions, magical objects, and more. Each month, the team will publish this blog, the Lexicon Ledgers, featuring a list of the Lexicon entries created during that month. Whether you are a first-year just starting out with your Transfiguration homework or a recent graduate working on Dragonology, this will be your go-to place whenever you begin something new.

Monthly Library Challenge

Excellent pieces of work to read, but what if there were a challenge for you as well?
The Monthly Challenge, introduced by the Team of Librarians, is pretty straightforward: each month, this blog will bring forth a set of six challenges related to some of the topics published in the Lexicon that month. You can complete each challenge, record your proof as suggested, and send it to one of the members of the Library Team. For each challenge completed, you will receive 10 Chocolate Frogs, and the most promising piece of work for each challenge will earn an additional prize, with a shout-out in the following blog. The challenges can vary from lessons to wall posts and even topics. The key is to explore the site as much as you can and make use of the Lexicon while you do. It's there for a reason!

1) Doxy

Go ahead and enroll in CoMC today, read and complete Y5W2 assignment on doxies and submit copy of your work. Just don't get bitten by one...

2) Kneazle

Ever heard of the uncanny beasts who have a sense for the wicked? Perfect time to enroll in CoMC, fly through and complete Y4W4 assignment on Kneazles and submit a copy of your work. Who knows, you might be the next owner of one!

3) Verdimillious charm

Back to basics? One of the first spells most students learn on their way to become well-seasoned adults, move into Classroom 3C and enroll in DADA today to show your colors casting the Verdimillious Charm. Send in your work afterwards in an owl.

4) Beauxbatons

Time to stalk some of those well-written backstories for some lore to be spotted. Can you think of a certain character with roots connected to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic? Do your research in the profiles and owl us any character on-site related to the Academy in some way. Bonus points if you also explain us how!

5) Manticore

One of the most lethal beasts - hardest to defend with a spell. Think of a strategy - or a series of strategies to defend one when spells aren't the most realistic, and write a story about a character who tried to follow it on a Manticore they encountered. Post your story as a wall-post and send us an owl to inform.

6) Contortion Potion

Nothing much is known about this mystic potion in lore, so use this opportunity to create something and tell us how the Contortion Potion potion actually works. It can be as silly or as well-argued as you want - owl us your creation, and feel free to turn it into a wallpost if you feel inspired as well!
